Feb 25th: Our Voices United Legislative Day


The Portland Urban League’s upcoming Our Voices United Legislative Day on February 25th will bring Black Oregonians together in the state capitol to influence the bills that impact our community. They are focusing on SB 608 (tenant protections bill) and on Marijuana Conviction Expungements.

Join us February 25, 2019 at 9am at the Putnam Student Center at Willamette University and the Oregon Capitol Building. The event will conclude by 4pm. The Urban League is providing transportation to and from Salem. Buses will depart from the Urban League for Salem at 8 am and from the Capitol building at 4 pm.

The event is free and will give attendees the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the Urban League’s top legislative priorities and what they mean for our communities

  • Speak with legislators about how their votes impact us

  • Attend legislative hearings to see legislators debate the issues

  • Tour Oregon’s capitol building

  • Exercise political power with fellow Black Oregonians
